Rules:

  1. By attending any Worksop and District Saddle Club Event you will automatically be bound by the rules of the show

  2. Worksop and District Saddle Club accept absolutely no responsibility what so ever for death, personal injury caused by negligent of the organisers or any one whom they are in law responsible nor any agent employee or representative of these bodies will accept any liability for any accident, loss, damage, injury or illness to horse, owners, riders, spectators, land or any other person or property what so ever whether caused by negligent, breech of contract or in any other way what so ever.

  3. All dogs must be kept on a lead at ALL times

  4. All riders ages are classed as of the first of January 2010.

  5. All ridden horses and ponies to be four years and over

  6. All horses and ponies must carry a valid passport and this may have to be produced upon request of the organisers

  7. Under twelve’s are not allowed to wear spurs in ANY discipline

  8. Under 16’s may only wear spurs in Show Jumping Classes and Dressage

  9. Lead Rein riders must be 8 years and under and must stay on the lead rein all day

  10. Lead Rein ponies are to be 12.2hh and under with a snaffle bridle with the lead rein attached to the noseband ONLY

  11. Excessive us of whips or spurs will result in the rider being escorted off of the showground, with no refund and will not be allowed to compete at Worksop and District Saddle Club Shows again.

  12. No Whips are not to exceed 75cm (30ins)

  13. No Entry Fee will be refunded once the entry has been made

  14. All complaints are to be made in writing to the Secretary with a fee £10, within 10 minutes of the close of the class, that will not be refunded if the complaint is not sustained

  15. HATS: approved BHS headgear with chinstrap fastened at all times must be worn by all mounted riders and the competitors must enter the ring correctly attired for the desired discipline

  16. The decision of the judges or committee is FINAL

  17. No entries taken once the class has commenced except in extreme circumstances

  18. The committee reserve the right to refuse entry, amalgamate or cancel any class at their discretion

  19. Any competitor not ready when called may be eliminated

  20. No Stallions are allowed not the show ground except in the in hand classes and must be handled by persons over 14 years of age

Class Rules:

  1. Tack and Turn out will be judged 80% cleanliness and condition of horse or pony, rider and tack and 20% overall impression

  2. Equitation will be judged 80% on riders ability and 20% on overall impression

  3. Ridden Showing will be judged 20% Manners, 20% Individual Show, 30% Way of Going, 30% Conformation, Type and Freedom of Action

  4. In Hand classes will be judged 20% Manners and 80% Conformation, Type and Freedom of action

  5. Working Hunter will be judged in two phases:

Phase One: Jumping 50 %,
Style and Manners while Jumping  20%,
Phase Two: Manners   10%,
Conformation, Type and Freedom of Action 10%,
Individual Show 10%,

Total:         100%

  1. Championships are open to first and second prize winners in the relevant sections

  2. Show Jumping will be run in accordance with current British Showjumping Rules. These can be found at www.britishshowjumping.co.uk

  3.  No whips or spurs are allowed in gymkhana games.
